Although I had mixed feelings about the beer bottle goblets, I love these rules of the house pint glasses. They are perfect for Super Bowl Sunday! Each glass states a different rule like no guest shall intercept another guest's seat and extra points for getting your own refills. I'm all for doing my part to end global warming, but I only recently realized that I could do something to help end beer warming. After all, nothing tastes worst than the tepid taste of a lukewarm beer. Luckily someone has created the Chillster, a freezable glass that keeps a drink ice cold without any ice. The pint sized, scientifically designed vessel is made from shatterproof plastic and unlike other similar glasses, this one keeps the drink cold without making hands chilly. It's a great concept, but I'm just not going to stock up on Chillster glasses. What do you think about it?

Party Foul: Serving Drinks in Incorrect Glasses

I recently attended a very crowded party where the caterers ran out of clean serving glasses. When I went to order a second beer, the bartender — to my dismay — poured it into a champagne flute. I looked around the event and noticed chicly dressed PYTs sipping champagne from brandy snifters and white wine from whiskey tumblers!

I love fun glasses as much as the next party gal, but because wine glasses actually enhance and affect the flavor of wine, wine should be served in appropriate glassware. I think the staff should have either washed more glasses or served beer in water glasses and wine in small table glasses.

What do you think? Is it a party no-no to pour drinks into incorrect glassware?

A little while back, Yum featured a set of tea cup champagne glasses. This week I found these take out martini glasses that seem to continue the concept. The top half of the glass is a ceramic version of a classic Dixie cup and the bottom half is your typical martini glass stem. I'm a huge fan of mixing high and low, but this deconstructed version is too much for me and I absolutely hate them. What do you guys think?

In a bar, glasses and dishes are constantly being washed. A bartender will often make a cold cocktail, but find that the only clean glasses are those hot from the dishwasher. Instead of panicking, there is an effortless trick that most bartenders use — and I do at home — hold the hot glass under cold running water. The cold water will quickly change the temperature of the glass. Once the glass has cooled in your hands, dry, and pour your cocktail.

When FabSugar was in New York for fashion week, she came across some pretty interesting champagne glasses at the Steinunn show. These inside out champagne glasses by Charles & Marie are an artistic take on the classic champagne flute. The base of the glass has been removed and the entire flute floats inside a clear cylindrical tube. The champagne is kept cooler longer because there is no direct contact with the glass that actually holds the drink. I'm off to Spain to visit mis amigos and I'm bringing some fun little gifts with me. I told you about my best buddy over there — he's kind of like my big Spanish bro — Antonio the mixologist and bartender. He specializes in shots so I asked you to help me find him a new set of shot glasses. Making an exceptionally perfect martini is an art that takes much practice. This artist's palate martini glass literally puts that concept into effect. The winner of the Bombay Sapphire martini glass blowing competition, the palletini (designed by Michael Kritzer) is a generous example of functional design. The alcohol becomes the paint, the bartender the artist, and the drinker a canvas for which the paint acts upon. Despite its impracticality, I love this glass for its sleekness and creative composition. Simple Tip: Easy Way To Dry Wine Glasses

Drying wine glasses can sometimes be a pain. Towels can leave awful streaks and lint, and sitting them on the counter causes condensation spots to form, and besides the lip is making a perfect seal with the counter meaning there's no air coming in to help out. Just imagine, if only there was a way to get air flowing into the glass... Turns out there is and it's one of those "'Doh! Why didn't I think of that?" tricks. To dry your wine glasses, just set down two chopsticks parallel on top of a dishtowel and place the glass on top! Square shaped chopsticks work best, but as long as you set them far enough apart, the round ones work too.

There is something about the word combination champagne fountain that makes me incredibly excited. Endless flowing champagne is a fantasy I've entertained ever since I learned my mom had one at her wedding. However the champagne flute fountain isn't exactly what I had in mind. I love this idea though: you'll never confuse your glass with someone else's glass and these can double as a pretty cool decoration when filled with something creative like colored rhinestones or m&ms. What I hate about them is the gigantic price tag that registers over a $1000! In an ideal world I could afford them, but until then I'll add these flutes to my champagne fountain fantasies. Drink Wine Without Stains

Last week, YumSugar and I were at a New Zealand wine tasting and I was a little worried about the new, crisp white shirt I was wearing. Usually to be on the safe side, I don't drink red wine when wearing white, but since this was a wine tasting, red wine would be consumed. I buttoned up my jacket until I started talking with Dan, an intelligent Wine Spectator editor. He had wrapped a napkin around the stem of his glass to ensure that any wine - red or white - that happened to drip down the side of the glass (which it inevitably always does at one point or another) would be absorbed by the napkin and not your shirt, dress, or pants. The napkin doubles as a glass identifier when the glass is placed on a table with other glasses you can immediately identify which glass is yours.

When I lived in southern Spain, very near Morocco, one of my favorite afternoon activities was drinking tea at a local Moroccan style tea house. If you have never been to a bona fide Moroccan tea house, you must go. Think seductive dim lighting, low tables, elaborate pillow cushions, snake-like hookahs, and the most amazing variety of tea. The tea is served in ornately beautiful little glasses, like these ones. There's something so deliciously intimate about these tea glasses that I now prefer to drink my tea in a small glass, rather than an oversized American mug or tiny British tea cup. I ran across these glasses when I was browsing for Yum Market Finds, they were found by reader almost famous. She points out that women love creative things and that although these wouldn't be used on a daily basis, whipping them out for that special someone during an intimate dinner could be a very inticing message. To me this one is a no brainer. My favorite cocktail is a vodka martini, so chic little martini glasses are never far from my reach. I like the classic, sleek look of the triangular yet functional glass. A complete bar will have martini glasses because you can serve tons of different drinks in them, not just the gin or vodka martini. They also make great presentation for layered desserts and puddings. I personally prefer the good old fashioned glass like the one from Crate & Barrel ($8.95) pictured at left. A champagne toast is often one of the most memorable parts of a wedding. I most certainly remember when my brother gave his bestman champagne toast at his best friend Ryan's wedding last September. I like the idea of everyone getting a glass of champagne - even the people who don't drink or don't like alchol - to take part in the toast. Julie and Scott's wedding will kick off with a special toast in which guests are handed a glass of delicious bubbly to salute the happy couple. British product designer, and recent art school graduate, Jim Rokos, has come up with a clever idea called "My Other Half" which comprises of a pair of wine glasses connected by a tube. The liquid fills up and forces its own level line which tries to balance the glasses. The glasses have to be held up to mouths simultaneously or the wine will spill all over the person who was too slow to raise their glass. Translation: if you don't play nice, neither of you will get to drink the wine and the slowpoke will end up covered in it. Interested parties can order a set for £220 + S&H ($440 + S&H). You know I am a fan of specialty cocktails served in specialty glasses. Like the right outfit for a certain occasion, the right glass is necessary for a certain drink. Not just for aesthetic appeal, but because the drink actually tastes different, better. With that said, I ran across some pretty cool cocktail glasses recently in the Yum Market on TeamSugar. Take this beautiful blue champagne glass for example. I take one look at it and I instantly crave a bellini or mimosa. I wonder if atkoester thought the same thing when she found this flute?

Qubus "Sommelier" Wineglasses: Love It Or Hate It?

I found these expensive wineglasses that look like cheap disposable plastic cups on stilts. They're called "sommelier" and are handblown in the Czech Republic by Maxim Velcovsky for Qubus Design Studio. A single glass will cost £25 (about $50). On one hand I think they're quite cheeky, but on the other, I think they're rather ridiculous (not to mention expensive). What about you, what do you think?

Yum Market Finds: Beautiful Colorful Glasses

Just as we fill our closets with shoes and handbags for each and every occasion we should fill our cabinets with the perfect glasses for each and every drink. Every time I show up with a new box of glasses it drives my father a little more crazy. After seeing Marie Antoinette I ran out in search of fabulous dainty little champagne glasses. We already have champagne glasses my dad grumbled. My response: we have champagne flutes and these are champagne saucers. As I was looking through the Yum Market, I realized that you recognize the importance of having a variety of glasses in all shapes and sizes. Here are a few of my favorite finds (that you found!):

almost famous found these gorgeous little brocade glasses. She says she is going to use them for decoration in her apartment or to pot tiny flowers (great idea!) but I would serve super hot tea or really cold beer in these glasses like they do in Spain.
