This is a rare Would You Eat This wherein I first heard about meatloaf cupcakes, I thought they sounded gross. Then later, after finding this photo I decided they looked delicious! The "icing" is made of mashed potatoes, and the pink coloring comes from beetroot. Are you loving these as much as I am?Source

The other day I ended up at the San Francisco outpost of Tom Colicchio's 'Wichcraft. While there were plenty of delicious-looking sandwiches on the menu, my eyes gravitated to their cupcakes. They're similar to the old-school Hostess cupcakes: rich chocolate with a white creamy filling, chocolate ganache, and a bit of white frosting drizzled on top. They clock in at $2.75, and they have nothing to do with sandwiches, but don't they look tasty?

We posted these adorable groundhog cupcakes last year, but I completely forgot about them until right now! While you wait to see if good ol' Phil sees his shadow — it happens tomorrow — why don't you whip up one of these cute Groundhog Day cupcakes?

Start with your favorite cupcake recipe, (or use Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Cupcakes) stick a chocolate candy bar (my suggestion: a mini twix) upright in the baked and cooled cupcake. Spread your favorite frosting to hold the candy in place. To make the groundhog's eyes and tooth, cut a tiny piece of white jelly bean and glue into place with frosting. Dot with black decorators gel or melted chocolate. Cut a triangle noise from a watermelon-shaped sour candy and use mini brown M&Ms for adorable itsy-bitsy edible ears and cheeks. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumb "dirt" around the groundhog.

This year I decided that I would have a New Year's resolution that I could stick to. I thought about it for a while and eventually landed on baking. Are Pull-Apart Cakes Really Cupcakes?

I was walking through Target the other day when I noticed these holiday silicone cake molds. At first I didn't think much about them, after all, shaped cake molds are all the rage these days. However, on second glance, I noticed that they're actually called Pull-Apart Cupcake molds ($14.99). They've got a few different shapes out there — turtle, butterfly, alligator — and have recently come up with a few more additions for the holidays. The wreath and flower basket ideas are a lot of fun, but I think the penguin and snowman might be a little difficult to frost. Either way they'd be fun for a party or a potluck, but are they really cupcakes?

Could these edible geek cupcakes be any more picture perfect? With the recent release of Super Mario Galaxy, I can't think of a better excuse to indulge with some Super Mario cupcakes covered with ghosts, stars, mushrooms, man-eating plants, gold coins and Mario himself.

This week's cupcake is actually from 2005, but when I saw it I immediately had to share it with you guys. This turkey dinner cupcake by It's Your Day Cakes is one of the most precious things I've ever seen. I can only imagine the amount of time all that detailing took.

I love the ingenuity of a little cupcake stacked on top in order to create the head.
