Mamas always remember to tuck cheerios, yogurt tubes, raisins and boxed drinks into their bags for their children, but they don't necessarily think to pack a snack for themselves. For women on the move, it's important to keep some healthy munchies like dried fruit, sliced veggies, a handful of nuts or a granola bar within their reach. That way they can refuel while running errands or waiting in the carpool line.
Ice Cream Cones For Snacks While ice cream may be the most popular filler for ice cream cones, your wee ones will enjoy snacking on other coned goodies.

While ice cream may be the most popular filler for ice cream cones, your wee ones will enjoy snacking on other coned goodies. Instead of ice cream, load up some cake cones with popcorn, pretzels, nuts, dried fruit, yogurt raisins, and M&Ms for other fun afternoon treats. As warm weather subsides in the upcoming seasons, the desire for iced-down treats may, too!

It's hard enough to keep bananas and peaches from getting squashed and bruised on the way home from the grocery. Try taking them to the park or on a trip and you'll often end up with a fruit smoothie type substance on the bottom of your bag.
This weekend I discovered a genius creation — the

MSNBC recently reported on a
new study that found when faced with the choice of eating a healthy or unhealthy snack, most people choose the unhealthy snack. The study highlighted the gap between our intentions and actions; it's one of the biggest problems with snacking. So while you may think you are above the fray, it would be wise to avoid the unhealthy temptations altogether by not keeping them in your home, car, or office and steering clear of places where you know you'll be tempted (fast food joints, bakeries, vending machines, etc.).

I do believe firmly in snacking and think it's losing its bad reputation. No longer perceived as a way to ruin mealtime, snacking can boost your metabolism and help you through that mid-day slump. Regardless of how you feel about snacking, are you a snack master?

Eating between meals, has definitely gotten a bad rap, but snacking can be good for you. Many nutritionist think we should
eat at least every four to five hours. So if you eat lunch at noon and dinner at 8:00, you're going to need a snack to make it through the long afternoon.

If your tot is tired of the same old snacks like cheese and crackers or baggies of sliced fruit or vegetables, mix them up. Last night, I tried two finger foods out on my 20-month-old son that he gobbled up. For fruity nibbles, take grapes and cover them in a layer of soft cheese like chevre, quark, or cream cheese, and then roll the balls on a plate of crushed almonds or pistachios.
