Since I am hosting my half birthday happy hour at a bar that does not serve food, I plan on making some snacks for my friends to enjoy. However, before I thought about the menu, I spoke to the owner of Rye and asked if I could bring in the food. After receiving his permission, I decided to keep things simple and elegant.

It's a little late in the season for basil — although I've still seen thriving bunches in the store — but when I saw this recipe for Lemon-Basil Snaps, I knew I had to share it with you. From the look of things, it seems to be a cross between a cookie and a savory biscuit. Call me crazy, but I think this is exactly the sort of recipe that would be worth giving around the holidays.

The other day I walked past PartySugar's desk and caught her looking at some puffy goldfish crackers. I asked her what she was looking at and she said that she would send it my way. It turned out that she had found a recipe for homemade goldfish crackers. 
Yesterday Molly asked me what I was planning on baking this week. I told her that I wasn't sure yet, but that I would bake it on Wednesday night. That's when she pointed out, duh it is Wednesday.
