Although
cheesecakes squares or
macaroons are delightful options, my birthday party won't be complete without a birthday cake. Chocolate cake is my favorite and this interesting twist on the classic German chocolate cake is unexpected and scrumptious.
Since my party is at a bar,
15 Romolo, I'll show up early enough for the bartenders to securely store the cake in a refrigerator.

I’ve shown you plenty of crave-worthy
rugs in the past with bold patterns and colors that really command attention in a room — rugs that really wow you. But there’s something to be said for understated luxury. For example, the simple lattice design of the
Martha Stewart Gate Rug ($359-$4,099) is distinguished and subtly beautiful, with a single color (salmon, blue maize, curry, or mist) and an uncomplicated repeating pattern.

Yet again, Martha Stewart wins me over with an ingenious and simple craft project. By gluing wooden plant markers to a wooden planter box, and painting it white, you can create your very own indoor white picket fenced garden. Here, herbs are grown, but you can certainly choose any plant you like.

While this project was identified by Martha: The Martha Stewart Show as a
DIY for baby blocks, I think they'd make a cool addition to a very grown up bookshelf or fireplace mantel. You can coordinate the images and paper you select for the greatest decorative impact.
What You'll Need
- 3 1/4-inch square wood block
- Sandpaper
- Scissors
- Acrylic paint
- Mod Podge
- Paintbrush
- Decorative paper
- Emery board
- Letters, numbers, and embellishments
- Sponge
To find out how to make it,
according to Martha, .
- Sand the wooden block with sandpaper to prepare it for painting.
- Paint the block with the color you've selected. Allow to dry.
- Cut 6 pieces of decorative paper to 3 1/4 inch.
- Glue the paper to each side of the block using all-purpose Mod Podge.

The foodie documentary
King Corn will be shown at my
movie club meeting, so the menu features a variety of vegetarian corn dishes. During the screening, let guests nibble on corn cakes and
pizzettas with corn and zucchini.
After the movie is finished, invite everyone around the table for a light meal of cheddar corn chowder with an arugula fresh corn salad on the side.

Remember when I posted those pictures of the absolutely adoro Chow Chow pups that
Martha Stewart's trying to choose from. Well, she's yet to make a decision but
shared even more cute piccys on her blog . .

Before my first attempt to make seared tuna, I was daunted by its sophistication. It wasn't until after that I realized the dish is deceptively foolproof — unlike chicken, you don't have to worry about whether it's cooked through.
Since the outside is seared quickly at high heat and the center of the steak is rare, the fish takes no time to cook.

Hi Casa,
I am loving this chandelier. It's the
Martha Stewart Veneto Collection Five-Light Chandelier ($699). It would be perfect for our dining room, which is currently undergoing a major renovation, but the hefty price tag totally breaks our budget.

Using a triptych photo frame can make a photo collection more substantial, or unite three images with a common theme such as subject, composition, or color. And, if you have three wall-mounted frames without stands, turning them into a triptych will allow them to stand up on their own. A photo triptych makes a great gift and a fun weekend project.

This one-plater is the ideal no-fuss, no-muss meal. Not only does it get rid of
leftover chicken breast, but it's on the table in no time — just what I need on a Monday night. It's healthy yet hearty, with straightforward flavors that even the most finicky eater will appreciate.
