Since Gwyneth Paltrow was born and partially raised in Los Angeles, she's an expert on where to stay and where to eat in the City of Angels — at least she is according to her weekly newsletter,
GOOP. Although I suspect that Paltrow chose the moniker of her newsletter simply because gwynethpaltrow.com was taken, I do find it interesting to hear what she has to say once a week. Paltrow has offered four of her favorite homes away from home to her readers, should they be considering a stay in LA in the future.

Meg Ryan has publicly listed her six-bedroom, seven-bath Bel-Air home for the tune of $19.5 million,
according to Big Time. The property has been informally on the market as a "pocket listing" for some time, and has been shown to a slew of celebs including the Beckhams and Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, but the price was never right. The listing for the Holmby Hills-area Spanish-style compound
reads:
Truly enchanting and romantic.

Just like
that cute vicuña, I had no clue what creature to expect when I opened these images of endangered Chacoan Peccaries. Turns out the pig-like animals feature similar snouts, but belong to a different taxonomic group, than "true pigs."Native to Bolivia, Argentina, and Paraguay, the animal was thought to be extinct until 1972 when the species was discovered to still exist in the Chaco region of Paraguay.
There are only 11 zoos in the US exhibiting these creatures – including the
Los Angeles Zoo where four new babes live.

Michelin Guide announced its 2009 starred restaurants for
New York and
San Francisco. The Michelin Guide, Europe's best-known restaurant guide, is released annually in the form of a series of books organized by city. The red books award restaurants zero, one, two, or three stars, and the stars are arguably the most well-regarded rankings in the global restaurant industry, with three being an extraordinary honor.

A nonprofit in East LA is on a mission to incorporate the stray portion of Los Angeles County into the City of East Los Angeles. By becoming a bonafide municipality, the birthplace of Oscar de la Hoya and the lowrider car
could have a formal forum for community concerns like crime and commerce, and means to provide services to residents. Right now East LA, possibly the cultural and political focal point of the entire Mexican-American community, is served by one county official that represents two million other LA county residents.

Audrina Patridge has opted for greener pastures than the backyard guest house of
Lauren Conrad's house in the Hollywood Flats, and purchased her own three-bedroom, 2.5-bath digs in the Hollywood Hills for $1.29 million. We all knew that she'd
moved out of Conrad's digs, but finally I've got the deets. The listing for the property reads:
This new construction Spanish Villa has a spectacular view over looking the city!
Posh Joins Ramsay as a Restaurateur Victoria Beckham has been busy making headlines with her haircut, but when she returns to LA there's another project waiting — opening a restaurant! She's teaming up with her pal Gordon Ramsay to open a new eatery.

Funny man/actor Dane Cook has purchased a 4,405-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home in Los Angeles for $7,078,412. The listing for the property reads:
