What would the food industry be without reality TV food competitions? 2008 was filled with interesting characters, odd-ball personalities, and plenty of heat in the kitchen. We covered the three main shows:
Top Chef,
Next Food Network Star, and
Hell's Kitchen.
Hell's Kitchen's Gordon Ramsay is famous for being a perfectionist and a windbag with anger management issues. This video imagines him as a child — and what a charming, foul-mouthed, abusive little child he is!

In a deal between
Fox and star chef
Gordon Ramsay, the chef has signed on for at least two more seasons of
Hell's Kitchen and
Kitchen Nightmares, a live cooking special, and — get this — yet another series.
Ramsay's third show will be based on his current British series Man Camp, a sort of
boot camp for men, who are put through physical and intellectual challenges.
The live cooking special will encourage "young, vibrant, and tenacious" viewers to cook a meal with the chef at home.
Christina on Her Hell's Kitchen Win Yesterday I spoke with Christina, the young culinary school graduate from the Midwest, who won this season's Hell's Kitchen. Elated about her win and eager to get started at Gordon Ramsay's Los Angeles restaurant, Christina was bubbly and confident. She's kept in touch with Vanessa, but isn't friendly with runner-up Petrozza.

Many of you were disappointed by the outcome of the
Hell's Kitchen season finale.
Gordon Ramsay chose the young, inexperienced blonde over the seasoned, bearded male. I wasn't surprised by his decision, but I was bummed for Petrozza.

Last night on
Hell's Kitchen, Christina and Petrozza faced off in a culinary showdown. Each had to run the pass, manage their team, and control the quality of the food. It was fun to see the old contestants up to their usual antics in the kitchen and it was lovely to hear the kind words
Gordon Ramsay had to say about the final two.
Let's Dish: Hell's Kitchen 4.14
It's down to the final two on Hell's Kitchen! This week there was no elimination as the contestants created their own menus, remodeled the restaurant, and jetted off to New York to compete. I greatly enjoyed the episode because it showed a much tamer Ramsay.
