If you plan on hosting any dinner parties or holiday gatherings, the last thing you need is a guest with a head injury. Unfortunately, slippery, icy walkways and steps are often the culprit in Winter accidents. Stop slips before they start by making sure to keep your steps free of ice and snow.

I love a good knick-knack shelf, but
open bathroom storage can be a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it makes it difficult to hide your more embarrassing toiletries, but on the positive side, you can create pretty vignettes with your most well-designed bottles.

What to do with that fat stack of last year's Christmas cards you've got stashed in a drawer? Well, if they're photo cards, save 'em. But if you've collected some cards with holiday-themed graphics,

Aimeesbell suggests this trick for creating an on-the-fly centerpiece for parties during the holiday season and beyond. holiday dinner party this week, why not put them to good use and turn them into place card holders? Use a standard dinner knife to slice a shallow slit into the length of a wine cork or the width (top) of a champagne cork.

If you're dealing with dribbles when you water your Christmas tree, try this tip: simply use a turkey baster! This kitchen tool will help you to aim the water exactly where you want it. It'll also give you an excuse to use the baster outside of Thanksgiving dinner.

If you want to add a cool touch for holiday wrapping, try using old film strips for ribbons. This would be an especially cool gift wrapping strategy for a film buff or a gift that involved DVDs!

If you're
forcing bulbs this Winter, you don't want your hard work to disappear in the blink of an eye! When your bulbs bloom, try to keep them in a cool area to extend their flowering lifespan. After you're done displaying them for the day, keep them in a cooler section of your house or basement.
