If styled correctly, a look book has worlds of inspiration to offer.
La Garçonne, a stellar online retailer for fashion-forward pieces, has done its Autumn/Winter '08 more than just right. Look after look, it provides visual tips on how to wear your favorite Fall pieces.
Among the things I love about Fall is that you can dress comfortably without being slobby. Roomy sweaters are the way to go — they provide warmth, hide the effects of
comfort food, and make you a feel like a bundle of cool.
Shopbop has a collection of sweaters that fit the bill.
Fall presents a plethora of rich colors that we should
incorporate into our wardrobes. Neutrals, browns, blues, greens, reds, yellows — jewel tones — are all part of the fun. Unlike Summer hues, these are moody and resemble the beautiful nature outside.

After taking a five-year hiatus from advertising, Alexander McQueen relaunched his campaign efforts with his Fall '08 collection. I've always fancied mythical forest nymphs, so naturally, I was drawn to his whimsical theme. The design mastermind cast model Alice Gibb to play in his Gothic-inspired ad shot by Craig McDean.
The day Zara comes out with its Fall catalogue is the day I really look forward to updating my autumnal wardrobe. Zara has everything from trendy to classic pieces at affordable prices — the quality isn't bad either.
I already got the
pleated gray pants from Spring; now all I need are cozy sweaters and coats to complete the look.

Rock & Republic stuck to what it knew best for its Fall Campaign — rock. That said Malgosia Bela and Vladimir Roitfeld look pretty bored for portraying rock stars. The photo shoot, shot by Mark Segal and directed by Julia Roitfeld, depicts the two in their R&R gear amongst a slew of amplifiers and wires.

I shared
my 10 Fall Essentials, but now realize it was a tad insensitive to dangle gorgeously expensive items at you when the
economy is dire. To make up for it, I present the budget shopper's guide to Fall. It has similar items to my original list, only cheaper versions.

Who ever said models were dainty? Not me. They get to wear coveted clothes and attend fabulous parties, but what about posing
mid-air on a ladder, or in this case, lugging around an ox in the frigid snowy mountains?
Take a close look. Do you notice the subtle juxtaposition between the smooth leather and suede of these
Oscar de la Renta Leather Boots ($1,195)? This expert two-toned technique adds an exciting and elusive touch to boots.

We welcomed
the new season by creating a list of
Fab's 10 Fall Essentials. They're all the pieces we currently need to stay on top of our fashion game. Some may suit you, some may not, but we recommend them all.
