One of the hottest new restaurants in town is becoming well known for its charcuterie plate. The last time I was there I ended up with the plate in the photo. I loved every bit of it, but my friend was a bit squeamish about the white proscuitto on the left. It looked too fatty and she refused to eat it. Her loss was definitely my gain, and I was able to enjoy all of the porky goodness. What do you think, would you have eaten it?

I usually love charcuterie, I got extra fond of it living in the UK where this amazing Italian deli in Edinburgh tempted me into trying some new things. I am a bit funny about "meat fat", not for the fat aspect but just the texture, I am one of those that use it for cooking but will cut it off a steak, and like bacon to be crispy, etc. So I guess it would come down to taste/texture for me. I will eat all your nummy peppercorn salami while I think about it though!

I'm not big into cold cuts...most of them are too fatty and salty for my tastes. I'm more of a cheese platter gal myself.

Swedeybebe took the words right outta my mouth again. I'd die for salami, but that fatty stuff grosses me out totally. I hate any kind of fat, skin, bones except chicarones. Other than that white gunk, I'd order two.
