Would You Eat This Charcuterie Plate?

One of the hottest new restaurants in town is becoming well known for its charcuterie plate. The last time I was there I ended up with the plate in the photo. I loved every bit of it, but my friend was a bit squeamish about the white proscuitto on the left. It looked too fatty and she refused to eat it. Her loss was definitely my gain, and I was able to enjoy all of the porky goodness. What do you think, would you have eaten it?

No meat for you! I think there would be fork marks in your hand. There certainly would be if my girlfriend were across the table from me rather than you.

I usually love charcuterie, I got extra fond of it living in the UK where this amazing Italian deli in Edinburgh tempted me into trying some new things.

I am a bit funny about "meat fat", not for the fat aspect but just the texture, I am one of those that use it for cooking but will cut it off a steak, and like bacon to be crispy, etc. So I guess it would come down to taste/texture for me.

I will eat all your nummy peppercorn salami while I think about it though! Laughing out loud

that is most definitely not prosciutto, but we'd have to fight to death to eat it.
I'm italian, and I was born in the land of prosciutto and salame, but I've never seen that white thing before: to me, it seems more a kind of pancetta, fatfatfat bacon. I already love it!

I'm with ilanac on this. I'm not a veggie but this just looks disgusting. Maybe its because most of these are pork products.

Coming from a girl who just ate proscuitto e melone for breakfast, the plate looks delish....but that first cut looks kinda ill. Other than that, prepare to fight!

I'm not big into cold cuts...most of them are too fatty and salty for my tastes. I'm more of a cheese platter gal myself.

I don't eat pork anymore, but when I did I would have eaten this, and at least tried the meat on the left.

OK, I admit it! I am semi-unrepentant carnivore but that platter might make me think twice...probably right after I finished all those glorious cold cuts off! LOL Smiling

This is not "white prosciutto"! This is lard. It's totally different. By the way i will not eat it. I am a vegetarian.

I'd try it. I've never had it so I'd have to see if I liked it. It looks good though.

Well I don't eat meat so no I wouldn't but even if I did eat meat that would not be included. When I ate meat the only thing I liked was chicken lol

Swedeybebe took the words right outta my mouth again. I'd die for salami, but that fatty stuff grosses me out totally. I hate any kind of fat, skin, bones except chicarones. Other than that white gunk, I'd order two.
